Overall I think the season pass was/is a little light on content for the price (though definitely much more worth it if on sale like now) but that combined with the free updates has added a lot of variety and personality to the game with the extra biomes, maps, mission types and variants, mechs, weapons, flashpoints, events and career mode. Update: My UAC5++ bit the dust when a trio of lights all focus fired my Blackjack in one turn :(Ĭlick to shrink.Yep. If you haven't played the game since release there has been so much added with the patches and season pass DLCs that this would be a great time to jump back in, and the DLCs are all on sale on Steam until 3rd December. Reckon I'll dump it for a medium mech asap.Ĭan't wait to try out the new heavy/assault mechs later in the game and put all these new weapons on them.

It's a bit better in general usage but still far from the powerhouse it was on release. Think they need to rebalance that mission to deal with the AI changes.

7 LRM boats and turrets all shooting at a light mech with default paper thin armour and it just melted. In the flashpoint mission in which you use it I wisely stuck my company commander in it because, despite doing the recommended reserving so you go after the enemies and then get your stealth back before they go next turn, the AI just reserved too and then sensor locked and focus fired the Raven to total mech destruction in the first combat turn.
#Battletech heavy metal edit weapons upgrade
I've been meaning to revisit and try to make it work but so far I've been better off using a Firestarter or Jenner because you can upgrade the armour a lot while still retaining a decent bite.Īlso got the Raven from that flashpoint and not finding it nearly as OP as was made out, though i think they've made changes to the AI since the Urban Warfare DLC was released. I also got a free Assassin mech in that crate but I don't use it much because while that aim bonus (shots ignore the first 3 evasion pips) is insane it has barely any free tonnage so it's light on armour or weapons or both. I've picked up some other incredible looking weapons too but I haven't had the chance to use them because I haven't got any more medium mechs with the right hardpoints yet (playing with 5 salvage parts to make a complete mech is delaying moving up the mech tree). Picked up a ++ version that is 2 tons lighter and reduces recoil by 2 so I put in two more heatsinks and now the heat management is great and the repeat shot debuff to aim is barely noticeable. 2x45 dmg shots along with 3x ML at the beginning of the game just ruins fools. Got a free crate of things at the start of my new career mode including a UAC5 which I put on my Blackjack and it has just been wrecking shit. NEW FLASHPOINT MINI-CAMPAIGNCome face-to-face with two legendary characters from BATTLETECH lore - the Bounty Hunter and the Black Widow of Wolf’s Dragoons.I haven't played a career mode since the release of the Flashpoint DLC, some of these new weapons are insane.
